Alice eats the mushroom because the caterpillar says that one side of the mushroom makes you grow taller and the other makes you grow smaller and she need to grow smaller to fit into the little house. Alice says she is not herself because all day she has not been her normal size and she feels weird. Alice would drink from the bottle that says “drink me” because she wants to grow smaller to fit in the door that leads to the garden. The Cheshire cat is always grinning because he tells Alice that Wonderland is for mad people, so when the cat is mad he is smiling and when he is happy he growls.
