Alices Restaurant.

The restaurant was started by Alice Brock in Massachusetts it remained open for about one year. It was a white sided building someplace along a nice street.

Mr. Guthrie composed the song "Alice's Restaurant" as a form of protest against the US military for refusing his entry into the military because of his criminal history-which stemmed from a littering charge. The tone of the song is slow and sarcastic/sad/hyperbolic because he has mixed emotions and is trying to prove a point. The meaning of "You can get anything you want" is that he can get whatever he wants through his imagination.

Alice Brock was a designer and painter during a very turbulent time. Mr. Guthrie named the song after her because during the 1960's the occupations she occupied where generally associated with the "hippie" movement and a rebellious youth.

Mr. Guthrie was from Brooklyn New York. Today he performs in tribute concerts and enjoys living a semi-retired life.

Nice job. If ever there was a writer who was not going to waste a single word, you could be it. You post has covered everything I asked for and covered it most efficiently. I know you can probably do this in your sleep. I'll try to make this blogging more challenging and maybe more enjoyable if I can.
