AAIW #1

"If fairies may for a moment lay aside cunning tricks and elfish play," simply means everything would be better if fairies would stop their usual routine of cunning trics and eflish play. "The rest next time--" "It is next time!", means that something will be told to you at a later time, but then right after "the rest next time" is said "it is next time" is also said because it is already a later time. There is orange marmalade on the shelf to excite Alice about finding something but then soon to realize it is there for nothing more than just to get your hopes up. From the statement at the end of the first chapter i can predict that there will be many out-of-the-way things or so called odd things that happen to Alice in the rest of the story.

i think that on the next time question, you need tweaked a little. I think that it means "why wait when you can do something now" other than that i agree.
