Go Ask Alice

Ok! I am impressed with how the blog is taking shape. As you know by now, we are diving into Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, now referred to AAIW. I was very impressed how all of you were reading and formulating questions about the two opening poems and Alice's travel through the rabbit hole. What we will be doing now is researching and brainstorming ideas about what the answers to some of your questions might be. We won't be brainstorming as a class or posting individual responses. I will be dividing you up into teams to research, brainstorm, and post. In addition, you will be posting comments to other groups posts.

Here are the questions each group must address:
  1. What does "...if Fairies may for a moment lay aside cunning tricks and elfish play..." mean?
  2. What does this line mean? "The rest next time--" "It is next time!"
  3. Why is there orange marmalade on the shelf?
  4. The first chapter ends with "...but Alice had got so much into the way of expecting nothing but out-of-the-way things to happen, that it seemed quite dull and stupid for life to go on in the common way." What can you infer and predict will happen from this statement?
I want each group to post a well organized response to the above prompts. I will be looking for organized paragraphs, grammatical sentence structures, and spelling.

This assignment is worth 30 pts. Each person in the group will receive the same points. If I see one person doing all of the work, I will give the entire group 30 pts. and divide it among all group members. In other words, if a group has 5 members, they would each receive 6 pts. out of a possible 30.

The post is due today! Let's get down to discussing and posting.

I have posted a WIKI link to AAIW.

Lastly, if your group is finished posting, each of you needs to start commenting to other posts.
