alice info

Alice's Restaurant was located down an alley behind a grocery store at 40 Main Street in Stockbridge, Massachusetts was roughly six miles from the church it was opened by, Alice M. Brock and was only open for one year. It is a Long building with a painting on the front and side wall and on the inside they try to make it look like a family kitchen and home.
Arlo Guthrie wrote the song to protest the draft. It was a sad rebellious song that got the point that he don’t want to go. Cause there talking about the draft and other sad things and how to rebel against the army as for what it means when he says"You can get anything you want"? That at the restaurant you can get him and his family were he fells loved
Guthrie named the song after her restaurant, Cause he dumped trash there and after he cleaned he fell in love with the place. Alice these days is lives in Provincetown, Massachusetts and owns an art studio and gallery at 69 Commercial Street. She illustrated the 2004 children's book Mooses Come Walking, written by Guthrie.
Guthrie's was the son of folk singers both his mother and father were singers so he had plenty of music life. Today he is still singing and acting in movies.

OK BB, you have a lot of information here, but some facts are twisted in a few places. Read the other posts and find where you might differ with others and ask them where they obtained their info. I also want you to post you sources at the end of your post. Nice effort, BB!
