Alice's restaurant was in Great Barrington, MA a woman named Alice M. Brock opened it. IT remained open for about one year. i am not for sure what it looked like but i think the building was big and white. The reason he wrote the song is he has a passion for song and writing and he wrote it in protest. The song is being sarcastic but is a rather smoothe song. This guy was a kind person that is why his song is smoothe. When they say that you can get any thing he means you can get what you want if you work for it.
