Alice follows the rabbit because she wants to know what other weird things could possible go on and the fact that she is a little girl doesn’t help her curiosity. The story the mouse tells is shaped like a mouse tail because as he is telling the story Alice is watching his tail. In a caucus-race there isn’t a start or a finish, and there are no winners or losers like in a regular race.
