The first line of the poem on page nine talks about a crocodile finishing shining his tale by going over each individual scale. The reason that Alice follows the rabbit is because she is young and naive. I the reason that the story the mouse was telling was shaped like that is because the author has a sense of humor and likes to make the readers strain their eyes. The race the dodo organizes is much different than normal races because there is no organized start or an organized finish so there cant be a winner.
