Lewis Carol, man or monster? Charles Dodgson was born on January 27, 1832 at Daresbury, Cheshire. His father Charles was a priest. When Charles attended Richmond Grammar School in Yorkshire he turned 12 years old. In his childhood Charles had a stutter. He only had this stutter when he was talking to adults he never had it when he was talking to young children. Which brings up one of the accusations that were penned on him being a pedophile. I believe he was not necessarily a pedophile because his obsession with young children was more of an emotional feeling than a physical attraction. Whether he forced the kids to pose nude or if he just acquired pictures from someone else I do not know. That’s why I do not think he ever did anything to the kids he just had fantasy’s about it them in his own mind and world. The reason he looked at all these pictures is because he had some real bad metal problems furthermore if he really was a pedophile then that explains why he had such mental problems and wrote such crazy stories that made no sense at all they were just nonsense.
Lewis carols had a disease called Lilliputian hallucination. The symptoms that are most commonly seen in cases like this is altered vision such as not being able to tell sizes of objects. If he was looking at a human body its might look distorted or he might not be able to see all of the body parts. Lewis Carol would also see things that were not really there and object would get really big then small. He was also accused of having a drug problem. I believe he took drugs to get ride of his headache and the to help the problems in his head. Which explains why his story Alice in Wonderland was just a bunch of nonsense because he was so confused all the time he didn’t know what was really or made up. The drug that he would have most likely have done is opium because it was a very popular drug in Lewis carols lifetime. The drug was also not illegal at the time so he could have gotten very easy. I don’t know where he had a drug problem but I do believe he took drugs to take away the pain away from his disease. Weather these accusation are really true we will never know for sure.
One reason that these statements will probably never be proven is the fact that all of his journal pages that he wrote from 1853 to 1865 are missing. In these pages there could be information about his life that would bust open everything about his life that no one knows about. Many people believe that his family is the one that caused these journal entries to disappear for the single reason of covering up his reputation and keeping his clean name going and not have everybody believing that he was a drug attic that was a pedophile with pictures of little nude kids posing into the camera. Despite what anyone says about Charles Dodgson whether he was addicted to hash or opium to take away his pain. Even if he was a pedophile who molested little kids it does not matter all that matters is that he a great author and that’s what people will remember him for.
